There are many species of whales that are in danger of going extinct. Most baleen whales are listed as endangered or protected species. The following whales are listed under the endangered species act : The Blue Whale, Bowhead Whale, Fin Whale, Gray Whale, Humpback Whale, Southern Right Whale and Sperm Whale. The commercial whaling industry is responsible for the declining numbers of baleen whales.
