Although crustaceans are extremely varied, they share some common characteristics, such as two eyes, two pairs of antennae and jointed appendages. Crustaceans have a hard exoskeleton but no internal skeleton. They can vary in size from microscopic plankton, less than 1mm long, to enormous crabs.
