“Water is life and life is water”… so it makes sense to think that life began in the oceans. If you look at the ancient marine world, you will find a rich variety of life, as far back as 150 million years ago. The oceans in those days were full of plesiosaurs and ichthyosaurs, huge crocodiles and of course, fish. Huge predators were kings of the sea, as they were on land in those Jurassic times.
Today, we have an equally interesting variety of marine life. However, except for some sharks, whales and colossal squid, the oceans seem to be ruled less by predators and more by human interference factors, such as global warming, over-fishing, pollution and pollution. Man has essentially become the modern-day equivalent of the ancient predator.
