The Angelfish’ body is round and striped with a rainbow of colours. They have tiny mouths and large fins, which makes them look especially cute. The average size of an Angelfish is around 20-30cm, although the gray Angelfish can grow to twice that size. The smaller Angelfish are popular with aquarists and although the larger species can be eaten, there have been reports of poisoning as a result.

Marine Angelfish release their eggs into the water and until they hatch, they float freely with the plankton. Large numbers of the eggs fall victim to planktonic feeders before they can hatch.
